August 23, 2017, Corinth, MS.  CCE hosted a lunch and learn for EJ (formerly East Jordan) at its Regional Corinth office.  EJ is a world leader in the manufacture and distribution of access solutions for water, sewer, drainage, telecommunications and utility networks worldwide.  Participants of the Lunch & Learn included representatives from the Corinth Public Utilities Commission, the City of Booneville, the City of Iuka, the Town of Rienzi, the Town of Burnsville, and Cook Coggin Engineers, Inc.  This informative luncheon provided valuable information regarding innovative infrastructure improvement solutions to interested municipalities in North Mississippi.

CCE Geologist Speaks to Boy Scouts in Corinth, MS

CORINTH, MS.  Jimmy Spencer, CCE’s Professional Geologist , recently spoke to the local Cub Scout Pack 123, Den 4,  about geology and the role geologists play in our environment.  This meeting was the first step in the process for these Cub Scouts to receive their Earth Rocks Badge.  This is an elective badge the Cub Scouts are taking to advance from Webelos 2 to Boy Scouts. It was also a chance for the Scouts to get an overview of geology in preparation for a couple of field trips, one to W.M. Browning Cretaceous Fossil Park in Frankstown, MS, to dig for shark’s teeth and other fossils, and one to Cathedral Caverns in Alabama to explore the caves.

The Cub Scouts involved in the seminar were Hayden Latch, Tilden Studdard, Jackson Norman, and John Thomas Draper.  Cub Scout Den Leaders Mark and Kristie Studdard were present along with parent Chris Latch.

2017 NADO Innovation Award – Avectus Public Building Improvements, Alcorn County, MS

Recognizing innovative approaches to regional economic and community development, the “Avectus Public Building Improvements” project was presented a NADO Innovation Award for 2017 by the National Association of Development Organizations (NADO).  CCE provided engineering services for the entire scope of the project from funding procurement assistance through construction engineering and inspection services.  Project partners were the Alcorn County Board of Supervisors & Cook Coggin Engineers, Inc. The project administrator was the Northeast MS Planning & Development District.

Recognizing innovative approaches to regional economic and community development, the “Holly Springs Airport Improvements” project was presented a NADO Innovation Award for 2016 by the National Association of Development Organizations (NADO).  CCE provided engineering services for the entire scope of the project from funding procurement assistance through construction engineering and inspection services.  Project partners were the City of Holly Springs, Marshall County Board of Supervisors & Cook Coggin Engineers, Inc. The project administrator was the Northeast MS Planning & Development District.

2014 MML Excellence Award – Wastewater Treatment Facility, Corinth, MS

The City of Corinth received the MML Excellence Award for Population > 10,000 at the 2014 Mississippi Municipal League Conference held July 2014 for its Wastewater Treatment Facility project.

CCE provided engineering services for the project, including funding procurement, environmental, design, construction engineering and inspection services for the Facility.

2014 ACEC Engineering Excellence People’s Choice Award – Clifford G. Worsham Surface Water System, Corinth, MS

CCE, Mayor and City Council With People’s Choice & Engineering Honor Award at ACEC Dinner

CCE receives 2014 Engineering Excellence People’s Choice Award at the MS ACEC Winter Meeting held March 20, 2014.  The award was given for Engineering Services provided for the City of Corinth’s “Clifford G. Worsham Surface Water System” project.  CCE provided engineering services for the entire scope of this project.
